Micrograph of a superalloy

Superalloys

Superalloys are suitable for applications involving significantly elevated temperatures as well as extreme corrosion conditions.

The development of these materials was driven by the increasingly demanding requirements of the aviation industry stemming from higher engine operating temperatures. Nicrofer 5219 Nb - alloy 718 but also Nicrofer 4722 Co - alloy X and Nicrofer 5520 Co - alloy 617 are examples of high-temperature and high-strength superalloys.

Nicrofer 5923 hMo - alloy 59 and Nicrofer 5621 hMo - alloy 22 represent the group of corrosion resistant superalloys based on nickel. They are chiefly used in chemical plants with high requirements on corrosion resistance.

Nicrofer 6030 - alloy 690 has established itself in modern power station engineering.
