The environmental policy of Outokumpu VDM describes the framework of our daily efforts in environmental protection, which also includes close and genuine cooperation with the competent authorities.

Our materials help to keep air and water clean: through their resistance to corrosion, erosion, abrasion and high temperatures in flue gas desulfurization plants, waste water treatment, and in the thermal disposal of waste and sewage sludge. Nicrofer 5923 hMo - alloy 59 and Nicrofer 3127 hMo - alloy 31, for instance, have proved themselves as top performers in flue gas desulfurization plants. Nicrofer 6020 hMo - alloy 625 also shrugs off extreme stresses in the highly corrosive environments of waste incineration and disposal plants. In particular, this alloy is superior to other materials used for superheater pipes and weld cladding on boiler walls and pipes.
